Massage therapy was initially my plan B — and ultimately became my plan A.
Immediately after graduating high school, I attended massage therapy school, became certified, and opened my first private practice. During those early years, I focused on building hands-on experience while completing an Associate of Science degree in Allied Health at Diablo Valley College, where I studied a wide range of health-related subjects that deepened my understanding of the human body.
This academic path eventually led me to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist Assistant. After completing my education and licensure, I spent two years working in a busy outpatient rehabilitation clinic. During that time — and especially throughout the pandemic — I realized that the clinical PT setting wasn’t fully aligned with how I wanted to support people, and that I wasn’t using my strengths in the most meaningful way.
During the lockdown period, I earned additional certifications in personal training and nutrition coaching, allowing me to continue helping people care for their bodies remotely. That period of reflection ultimately guided me back to massage therapy, where I could integrate clinical knowledge, movement awareness, and hands-on care in a more personal and effective way. After relocating to Nevada County, I leaned fully into this work — and haven’t looked back since.
